| | I was watching a movie recently and something really leaped out at me. It said something along the lines of "If you pray to God for more patience, what does He do? Allows situations that try your patience in order to improve it. If you ask for courage, God sends situations in which you need to be courageous... it allows room for growth." I thought that was an extremely neat way of looking at it. I don't know about you (and you very well may have already known this or figured it out), but I never thought about it in that way. It makes sense, really. God doesn't want to make spoiled brats out of us. He wants to make us grow and strengthen us! If He were to answer our every beck and call or bestow upon us the things we ask for IMMEDIATELY where would we be? We'd have an extremely tainted perspective of life... That hit me hard the other night during that movie and I'm not sure how much I really payed attention to the rest of it due to my thoughts on this subject! Just thought I would share this and maybe it would prick someone else's spirit. |
